This position serves as the senior network specialist for SPAWAR Atlantic Stuttgart Office with responsibilities relating to the full life cycle for both Command and Sponsor networks and hosting environments. The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, analysis, design, procurement, development, configuration of routers, switches, servers, management applications and application performance.

DUTIES:
· Reviewing the configuration of local area network and wide area network running CISCO software and hardware to ensure they comply with security policy, procedures, and technical requirements.
· Collaborating with other internal and external organizations to ensure interface and interconnectivity requirements are met.
· Analyzing a variety of system problems and conditions associated with local area network and wide area network running CISCO software and hardware to develop solutions.
· Monitoring configuration tools to meet accreditation and compliance standards.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NO-04 (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Installing, testing, and configuring CISCO network hardware and software systems; Analyzing information systems for security risks in order to integrate security solutions into the design, development, configuration, integration, and management of networks; Monitoring networks to ensure optimal performance; and Troubleshooting network or system problems (e.g., outages) to identify causes and develop solutions.
In addition, you must have IT related experience demonstrating the four competencies: Attention to Detail - I am able to review data from multiple sources and determine relevant information to a given situation. I develop information requirements, configurations, policies, procedures, plans and programs. Customer Service - I act as a customer liaison by developing and maintaining relationships with customers with diverse needs. I provide technical information about products and services. I assess the needs of customers and identify or tailor products and/or services to meet their needs. I resolve non-routine problems, questions, or complaints and direct the most complex problems, questions, or complaints to the appropriate person. Oral Communication - I communicate, explain, or defend ideas or information clearly. I listen to others and recognize potential miscommunications. Problem Solving - I use logic to identify alternatives to solve technical problems. I identify and solve problems by gathering and applying information from a variety of materials or sources that provide several alternatives.
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training and experience. Applicants should meet the DAWIA Certification requirements for the Information Technology Career Field and be certified at Level II at the time of application. REQUIREMENTS:

Position includes 1 – 14 hours per week performing IA duties. Position includes travel 1 to 5 nights per month.
